"Obstacle Race 2012"

The "Obstacle Race 2012 is an art project in which mixed groups of people run an attraction-filled race course in Hamamatsu city centre towards the goal of the "Art Brut Exhibition※" at the Hamamatsu City Art Museum. The project was thought up and planned by Takafumi Fukasawa (artist) who set up a committee of members supporting the event's aims and is run by volunteers from Hamamatsu with varying backgrounds including those working in art, social welfare, town planning, medicine as well as students.
Preparations are currently fully underway to realise this project that will bring fresh perspectives and encounters in the local area. As well as asking local shops for event space and selecting special guest runners, we are recruiting runners from the general public, those who can participate as an attraction on the course, sponsors and those who can act as staff on the day of the race.
We thank you for your understanding and support.
